Each of our horses is part of the story we’re writing here at Daisy’s Folly. From seasoned companions to promising young stars, these Mangalarga Marchadors represent the heart of our farm.
Rubi is often described as a war horse. She holds herself with a sense of pride under saddle, always marching in a powerful, collected gait. Despite her immense strength, Rubi has the gentle heart of a mother. She greets people with an eager kindness; truly a gentle giant. Rubi is the mother of Daisy’s Folly Tabasco, her redheaded mini-me.
Our beautiful Luna is always a guest favorite. From fun tricks at liberty to incredible talent under saddle, it’s clear that Luna is a future champion. She is currently in training for the working equitation discipline and is moving forward with flying colors every day! When she’s in the barn, sweet Luna adores showing affection to her human companions.
Like her floral namesake, Lily is as lovely as she is beautiful. She is intelligent, brave, and full of life: the buckskin of every equestrian’s dreams. Lily was only recently started under saddle and we couldn’t be more proud. She moves with a calm gracefulness, trusting her rider and willing to learn. She will soon follow in the footsteps of Rubi and Luna in the working equitation arena.
Granfina is the matriarch of our herd and currently the oldest horse on the farm. She was one of the first two Mangalarga Marchadors owned by Ms. Daisy alongside her sister, Dondoca. With her gentle spirit and graceful gait, Granfina is a favorite among beginner riders and advanced equestrians alike. She excels in liberty training and will take care of her rider both in the arena and out on the trails.
Tabasco, the son of Rubi, is currently the youngest horse on the farm! From day one he has been an incredible force full of life and fire. Even as a yearling he already exhibits collection, showmanship, and great intelligence. We have huge expectations for this redheaded colt and can’t wait to see what he will accomplish.
Lovingly referred to as the “King of the Folly,” Tennessee Whiskey is truly a star. He is adored by online fans and leaves every visitor in awe. Not only is he the only buckskin pinto Marchador in North America, but this incredible young stallion has always loved to put on a show. He moves like poetry in motion, marching with a collected head and powerful strides in a perfect representation of the Marchador breed. Wether he is asked to rear up on command, lie down, or even take a seat on a sofa with a rider on his back, this dreamy stallion is a master of it all. Tennessee Whiskey has truly earned his title as “King of the Folly.”
Bela is a delightfully clever yearling to work with and the youngest filly in the stable. She is extremely confident, clearly a born leader! Bela already gaits like every Marchador rider’s dream and we can’t wait to experience it in the saddle when she is old enough. Curious and fast-learning, Bela is a favorite to teach tricks to. Her current training involves a paintbrush and canvas with which she has already learned to paint some beautiful abstract art on her own! We adore this sweet filly; she is as stunning in color as she is in intuitiveness and she has captured the hearts of the Folly.
At Daisy’s Folly, our horses are more than companions—they’re partners, teachers, and an integral part of our story. Each one is carefully bred, lovingly raised, and professionally trained to reflect the excellence and elegance of the Mangalarga Marchador, Brazil’s national treasure.
Founded by Amber McAdams Crowe, affectionately known as Daisy, our farm is devoted to honoring this rare and remarkable breed. As a lifelong equestrian, Amber brings her experience as a professional rider, trainer, and breeder to every aspect of her work with these horses. Her commitment is rooted in a deep respect for the Marchador’s intelligence, athleticism, and incredible disposition.
Known for their smooth ambling gaits, friendly nature, and impressive versatility, the Mangalarga Marchador is one of the world’s most unique and captivating horse breeds. With just a few hundred in all of North America, these horses are as rare as they are remarkable—and Daisy’s Folly is proud to be among the few dedicated stewards of the breed.
